Goodbye Studio
Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Hello
Hello to anyone that reads this. I've been busy producing more paintings and getting ready to graduate. I think I've secured myself a studio space for after graduation, so I'm excited about continuing to produce work outside of school.
I would like to update with images from the work I've done in the last 6 months, but unfortunately I am without a digital camera for the time being. The one I had been using decided to crap out and stop working.
Edit: Bought a new camera, a Sony Cybershot. Not a bad camera for the price, currently documenting work.
Cheers.

Art Show Pictures
I recently had a show at DiCarlo Salon on Water St. It's a hair salon, but Jason DiCarlo likes to showcase local Milwaukee artists every month for his clients to view while getting their hair styled.
The turnout was pretty good, and it ended up being quite a fun night.
Here are some photos from the event:

Latest Painting
Here is one of my latest paintings, to serve as a sort of "preview" to my upcoming massive update (pretty much any thing of note I've done in the past six months).
I will be updating with:
-around 10 drawings 22x30
-a better image of this painting after it was completed
-the companion painting to this piece, same size
-some smaller scale paintings
-some photography/digital stuff I've been working on
This painting is part of my ongoing "Static" series, it is 36"x48" acrylic and collage on canvas. As always click to enlarge.

Peck School of the Arts Ball
Not much of an update, but I am showing this piece from last semester at the Grand Vienese Ball at the Kenilworth Building on Saturday Night. It costs money to get in I believe. The painting's for sale, let's see if anyone buys it...

Video Installation
Here is a video installation I did for the upcoming show "Painting Without Borders". The show is all the advanced painting students and it opens on March 7th at 5PM at the Zelazo Center (Across the street from the UWM Union on Kenwood). This video might only be playing at the opening, so be there on the 7th from 5-7PM if you're not too busy doing nothing...and want to see some really great work from over 20 student artists.
